Button pins

Came across some embroidered button and decided to handmade my own design.Making button pins are easy, the difficult part is to decide on the theme. After much thoughts, I settle with the Animal and the Breakfast theme as I wanted to make fridge magnets. Below are the steps I have done to make the button pins.

1. Started drawing some circles on a piece of paper. Draw the picture within the circle. You may like to color them so that you have better visibility if how it will looks like.
Tip: You may use a coin or anything round to trace the shape onto the paper.

2. Trace and cut the picture onto the felts. For the circular base, you would require two pieces.
Tips: It will be easier to stick double side tape on the paper and past it onto the felt before cutting out the shape.

3. Sew the pieces onto the  top circular felt.

4. Using blanket stitch, sew the top and bottom circular felt together, leaving about 1 ~1.5 inch of gap for you to stuff in the polyester filling before finish off .

This is some of the buttons that I have completed. My favorite are the three little chicks which  draw in heart shape and embroidered the different facial expressions.

Angry Birds

Angry Birds

I have been a fan of Angry birds for a long time but only till recently that I decided to create something out of it.

Intended to make a pin/ brooch of the Red Bird but stop short of sewing the pin as find the Red Bird cute as it is. Have not decided what to do with it but may turn it into a fridge magnet.

The other character that is love by some and hate by most is the Pig King. I actually find the Pig King cute. So, that is the second piece that I had done and I actually made it into a key chain.

My favorite character is actually the Bomber. However, I run out of black colour felt. So, only 2 characters from the Angry Birds for now.
